REVIEW: Transa - Supernova incl. remixes out on Covert Recordings

The first release under Transa’s Resurrected campaign is undoubtedly one of their best tracks, Supernova. Originally released in 1999, Supernova was championed by some of the world’s biggest DJ’s such as Tiësto, Oakenfold, Judge Jules and Armin van Buuren and appeared on some of the world’s most popular dance compilations. Incredibly the track turns 24 this year and is still played and very much loved to date. The re-release includes the Original (remastered), two high octane remixes by none other than the mighty Binary Finary and Kenny Palmer (Trancessential/Armada), and Magdelayna providing a sublime chilled mix.

Summary

Transa is one of the most beloved trance duo with tracks that sounds super fresh even after twenty years from their first release. The exceptional Supernova with its spacey melodies is considered as one of the most uplifting euphoric and high quality trance beauty. The new remix package updates the classic in the most successful and prominent way. Binary Finary pumped up their version with tougher solid basslines, pounding drums, thumping kicks and on top synthy hooks performing hints of the addictive original melody. The breakdown is long and teasing with additional female voices, piano chords and choral atmospherics. The build up is intense and nicely takes all the way in the climax that highlights the memorable synthy hook that infects for sure. The upcoming Kenny Palmer refreshes the original in his own tougher tech infused version. With short breakdown to unleash the well known melody in its glory takes the track towards its very first sequence until to reach the breakdown with sensual atmospheres, pianos and female voices. The coming of the well known synthy hook will raise the hair from neck. The build up is teasing and exciting leading to the massive climax with such a strong and memorable melody. Finally for your chilling summery sets the Magdelayna version relaxes and smooths the proceedings with excellent application of the uplifting melody within this very stripped down full of glorious melody version. #PureGold Love IT
