COMPILATION: Anjunadeep, The Yearbook 2022

As 2022 comes to a close, Anjunadeep presents the next summary compilation in ‘Anjunadeep The Yearbook 2022’. This years edition boasts a strong and diverse selection of some of the year’s biggest tracks from acts including Tinlicker, Eli & Fur, Marsh, and Moon Boots.

In case you hadn’t noticed, 2022 has been a mammoth year for music on the label

We welcomed new faces like Innellea, Konstantin Sibold, Nicky Elisabeth, James Shinra and Forma to the Anjunafamily, and released brand new albums from Jon Gurd, OLAN, Nils Hoffmann and Cubicolor.

We asked the team here at Anjuna HQ about their favourite musical moments from the year, and here’s what they said…

Roz - Streaming Manager

"Mona Vale's ‘Pieces Of You EP’ was probably my favourite EP that was released on Anjunadeep this year, and a newfound love for Mona Vale. Love the whole production of the title track - the piano elements and breakdown of the drums in the middle. It came out right before the summer and was definitely one of my most overplayed tunes of the summer heat wave!"

Freddie - Radio & Streaming Executive

"I picked James Shinra's ‘Friends’. Something a little different from Deep, really interesting EP".

Amy - Events Marketing Executive

"I've been obsessed with Nox Vahn & Joseph Ray's ‘Inhibitions’ ever since the very first time I heard it at HQ, incredible track."

Sim - Marketing Assistant

"My favourite Anjunadeep release of 2022 is Joseph Ray’s ‘Changing Lanes’ followed closely by his remix of Tinlicker’s ‘Just To Hear You Say’. Both tracks embody Ray’s classic dark and moody sound, and take you on an emotional journey through heavy basslines and striking melodies. It was incredible to hear them both live at Dockyards and Printworks and I can’t wait to hear more new music from him in 2023."

Sevan - Head of Label Marketing

"One of the best tracks from one of the best albums of 2022, Tinlicker’s ‘Light Beam’ crystallises everything I love about Melodic House. An infectious groove that gets my feet moving, a stunning production that warms up my ears, and most importantly, the awe-inspiring chords and melodies that make me feel all the feels, from melancholy to hope and everything in between. A masterpiece."

Chris - Head of E-Commerce

"Simon Doty & Marsh’s ‘Touch The Sky’ is a brilliant track from two of the masters. What a way to end the year! Can't wait to see what Marsh has in store for us in 2023!"

Allan - Label Director

"Too many to choose from and they change on different days, but on Friday 16 December, the choice cut is 'Touch The Sky' by Simon Doty & Marsh. Two of the brightest stars coming together for a euphoric, modern power groove with some lovely 90s dance nods."

Mia - Anjunadeep Product Manager

"I love what Barry Can't Swim has done with 'Revelation'. The main melody combined with the track's uplifting feel really stands out to me and is a track I am constantly coming back to!"

Angus - Anjunadeep Label Assistant

"Rezident’s sophisticated productions never fail to capture my attention, however ‘Echoes’ has such a cold, emotional depth to it that is somehow still powerfully feel-good and anthemic - a deft combination that gives me goosebumps every time I listen."

Claire - Anjunadeep Marketing Manager

"I’m the one who compiles these newsletters, so nobody can stop me picking two, right? 😈 In that spirit, my first pick, and my most-played track of the year (if Spotify Wrapped is to be believed) is Juno Mamba’s ‘Us’. I personally believe Juno Mamba is one of the best signings this label’s ever made, and I’m a fan of anything he puts his hand to, but this track really pulls at my heartstrings.

My other favourite of the year is the somewhat under-appreciated VONDA7’s ‘High Tide’. A brilliant, bouncy little track from a seriously cool producer, who really brought the heat at Anjunadeep Explorations this summer."
