REVIEW: Joint Operations Centre EP - Dexathol / Plexatron out on Subculture

10.0
Overall Score

1.Dexathol
2. Plexatron

John O'Callaghan makes a welcome return to Subculture under his Joint Operations Centre alias with two prime cuts of sonic sorcery in the form of Dexathol and Plexatron. Dexathol is trademark Joint Operations Centre at his dark and twisted best. Fierce kick drums and pounding rhythms give way to a speaker-rattling bassline. The perfect fusion of the influence of the past mixed with the futuristic production prowess that John O'Callaghan is renowned for. On the flip, Plexatron is centred around an infectious drum groove delicately intertwined with an edgy vocal loop, chopped and spliced throughout the mix. Two tracks that perfectly encapsulate the unmistakable sound of Joint Operations Centre... a highly recommended EP.

Summary

Joint Operations Centre is the quality underground project by John O'Callaghan who unleashes great tunes that will be used and abused by thousands of trance jocks on this planet. Two magnificent Mauro Picotto and Len Faki influenced productions that prove that you don't need to keep on the safe side to be successful. Dexathol that sounds like a medicine for headache is a powerful extra dynamic bouncy techno meets trancer with heavy rough basslines, pounding drums, vocal snippets, cinematic strings, mysterious atmosphere and excellent climax with dark moody synthy hook running throughout to boost you in the right direction. Ohh Yeah! Plexatron starts with cool intro to prepare the audience for the mayhem that comes next. Pulsating dark monster size techno crackers that push to the right direction. Fat bold and solid will bang you hard and deep in all the right directions and available dancing positions. Superb use of nice melodic synths with breakdown to relax and meditate followed by fat and furius climax that smashes walls and raises roofs. #PureGold Love iT
