The story of Cassius testifies them as Dance legends. The duo grew out of the French Touch movement of the 1990s, where they met with companions like Daft Punk and with titles like "Feeling for You", "1999" and "The Sound of Violence" helped shape the future of electronic music. The small, intimate French house scene proved to be fertile ground for joint projects and offered Cassius soon international recognition: Philippe Zdar is now Grammy-winning producer and mixer for groundbreaking albums by bands like Phoenix, Kindness, Bloc Party, Chromeo, Cat Power and the Beastie Boys (just to name a few). In recent years, the influence of French House grew noticeably, and even Kanye West and Jay Z in their joint album Watch the Throne have used Cassius samples.
On Action they combine delightful fusion of disco, house, Afro-beat, haunting pop hooks and Cat Power (Chan Marshall) and Beastie Boy Mike D melancholic and explosive vocals. Now is the time for "Action"!
