Last year, a couple of months before the ASOT600 tour, Dennis of Alda Events approached me with a random request: putting together music for the first hour of each live show, creating a vibe in the venues while the crowd entered the venue.

Something that would build a certain vibe or tension.
I took the challenge, but instead of making a DJ mix, I decided to fully produce this show element.

After months of work I finished the hour of music, and it was used during the tour.

After the tour, I didn’t even think that people would be interested seeing this as a regular release, as it was easy listening music.
I decided to give the music away on Facebook, as a dedication to the two cities and crowds I played for during this ASOT600 tour: Sao Paulo and Sofia.

One year later, ’ From Sao Paulo To Sofia’ has been embraced by many people, including I would say, the least expected person in the dance industry: Hardwell.
He has used the full album as warm up music during his massive ’I AM Hardwell’ tour, as well as in his documentary.

As all of the tracks on the album are non-danceable tracks, I have asked my favorite producers to give their own twist to the tracks, and in your hands is the result!

Dimitri Kechagias review: The rising star dj, producer and label owner Ruben de Ronde well known for his top performances at Armada Night events around the globe presents the remixed edition of his album From Sao Paulo To Sofia that definitely has a fascinating story behind it and can tell how hard Ruben works day by day to reach the status his achieving at the moment. The 1st dj sampler includes 5 top tracks from this very excellent compilation of exclusive beauties. Firstly They Are Not You is remixed by LTN who does his best to impress with his deep brooding basslines, heavenly soundscapes, ethereal melodies and floating atmosphere. The same high class level continues on Forever In Our Hearts  that is remixed by David Broaders who delivers the warm emotional deep progressive trance sound that was missing in the scene. Calm, relaxing, balearic with variety of piano melancholic melodies and synthy plucks the track will captivate the audience and will hypnotise them in the middle of the dancefloor in a state of trance heaven. The track Pure is remixed by RNX who re-imagines it as a smooth driving progressive trancer with pounding drums, deep haunting basslines and magical synths with the old beloved Coldharbour recordings echoed throughout the whole track that balances between dark and moody with purple colourful touches. Noir is remixed by 10dens into a deep melancholic highly atmospheric production with cinematic soundscapes and great combination of chunky grooves, electroish basslines and sad melodic themes. After the breakdown the track becomes more aggressive with industrial touches and electronic melodies. Last but not least One Bad Hero is remixed by Rodg who does his best to provide an exceptional deep progressive house version with chill out elements, mouthwatering melodies and old school Sasha and John Digweed influences. It is too good to be missed. #PureGold Love it
