REVIEW: EDX - Collateral Effects EP incl music video for You Make Me Feel Good out on Enormous Tunes

Off the back of another incredible summer that saw You Off, 'Breathin and Make Me Feel Good become staples in the Beatport chart, EDX looks set to finish the year with the same gusto as he started with his latest EP, Collateral Effects, coming through on Enormous Tunes on 1st December.

With his progressive sound specifically designed to make people smile, the two-track EP delivers some of EDX's signature melody work that'll instantly brighten up the dance floor. Its title track Collateral Effects features an elevating, nu-disco beat that's layered with soft male vocals and hints of string and percussion work, whilst the B side named Empathy takes things deeper with a dominating kick drum - and a great demonstration of Maurizio Colella, aka EDX's long-standing dedication to the scene.

After gracing the bill alongside Avicii and Laidback Luke at Ibiza's coveted open air club Ushuaia bcd in August, EDX is currently undergoing a massive tour of North America; proving that 2014 has been another stellar year for the Swiss. Besides his notable release success, EDX continues to head up his weekly No Xcuses global radio show which presents the works of both popular and up-and-coming house producers' from around the world - and he's also a member of up and coming Swiss collective Helvetic Nerds.

With an official music video for Make Me Feel Good on the horizon and a remix of Sandy Rivera's BANG! coming through on Ultra Records, Collateral Effects is a perfect way to round off the year and will see you right through the winter months.

Dimitri Kechagias review: EDX is on the rise and he deserves it. The man behind many well known projects and responsible for the success of many artists that some you can even think off that he is behind the scenes for them returns with two must have beauties that can become the best start of your December. The last month of the busy year for the always hardworking EDX finds him with a magical EP on his hands with 2 great tracks that stand out and can keep us great company through the cold months of the winter. First of all is Collateral Effects. The tracks moves on the well known pathway of EDX distinctive summery sunkissed sound that now has become even more dreamy, laid back but very emotional with eclectic piano melodies, cool vocal samples, violin like riffs, breakbeat part in the breakdown and with the main vocal hook that recalls Italo House classics. Playful, groovy, melodic, hypnotic and danceable on the style that EDX delivers with consistency and belief on himself. Empathy is another loud and proud example of what EDX is capable to deliver and make his fans write extremely positive comments in his soundcloud page. It's moving more on deep tech house tradition with sweet sun drenched synths while on the breakdown the classical music infused strings merged with the stretched down vocals perfectly along with piano chords plus chill out / lounge style elements in it as well. The result is a very euphoric, optimistic, relaxing track that brings to your mind emotions that the cover of the release creates in your mind as well. #PureGold Love It
