Dimitri Kechagias review: It is not a secret that Finland is one of the most trance friendly countries with many talented producers coming from there. One of them is Winkee aka Jussi Paasonen and Sami Törrönen who deliver one of the hottest and purest trance tracks of the year so far! Straight to the point uplifting trancer that lasts for more than 8 minutes and take you on board for a magnificent journey as you feel totally unable to stop yourself from dancing with hands in the air and smile in your face. Of course what characterises trance tracks like Awakening is that sense of originality, authenticity and musicality. The guys didn't just take a cd with prepared synthy hooks but rather build their own sounds and the result is stunning. Tough bouncy kick, driving energetic basslines, colourful euphoric old school 80's syntherizer sounds and that very emotional sad guitar riff that is spread throughout and appears in its full glory in the breakdown within the magical soundscape that includes chill out music elements and breakbeat section too. The climax is straight to the point emotional uplifting trance that has as single focus point the melodies and their progression and not the fancy tricks that producers do to keep us interested. On the remix duties is the Italian maestro who is responsible for some totally unforgettable tracks. Giuseppe Ottaviani transforms the original into his own more big room meets progressive trance sound that is equally energetic and euphoric as the original but with deeper basslines and bubbly kick that sounds truly old school. The track is decorated with variety of emotional synths and remains quite dark and sinister despite the original's tendency. It is based on that fantastic guitar riff that recalls Solarstone and Seven Cities in away.
