ADE 2014: First two ADE Global Interns return from India and Rio de Janeiro

Lobke Ruijs and Maikel de Koning recently arrived back in Holland. Ruijs spent three months working with the organizers of the Rio Music Conference, and de Koning was in India for three months working for the Sunburn Festival in Goa, India.

Spending several months working in India was, according to de Koning, a very important experience: "I had never really thought about working abroad and discovering another culture, but I really did not want to miss this opportunity! I had a great time discovering and integrating myself into a completely different way of living and working, an experience that was life-changing for me, and I’m really thankful to everyone at ADE & Sunburn who made this experience possible." His now former employers at Sunburn were equally effusive. "Our goal for this internship was to expose a young Dutch talent to the opportunities, challenges and fervor of working with Asia's largest music festival - Sunburn," Shailendra Singh, festival director and MD of Percept, said. "India is emerging onto the global EDM scene in a big way, and it's an exciting time to watch it flourish. We have to thank ADE for allowing us the chance to bring Maikel into our family, to be a part of the journey with us. He has thrown himself head first into the experience and we appreciate his enthusiasm and his contributions. Dance music has the power to unite souls, and ADE has created some wonderful stories for many of them."

Having spent her intern time in Rio de Janeiro at the height of the sub-tropical summer, Ruijs was equally impressed by her experience: "I had a fantastic time and learnt a lot working with the largely Brazilian crew who produce RMC," she commented. "It was a case of working hard and playing hard. Thanks to all for enabling me to have such a fulfilling start to my career." RMC's Pedro Nonato commented: "We were very happy to participate in the ADE Global Intern Program, and Lobke was perfect. She is result-oriented, has the capacity to focus for long periods, and is very good in her relationships with her colleagues."

The next ADE Global Interns that are about to start are:

Caroline van Paassen (internship at GM Affairs - Aruba)
Salma van de Ven (internship at OneBeat - New York)

The ADE Global Intern Program is part of ADE University. Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming edition.
