Our 12th release on Touchstone Recordings comes from Simon Templar, one half of Finnish production team Winkee of ‘Whisper’ fame. The glorious ‘Meltwater’ comes in two magnificent slabs of brooding progressive big-room Pure Trance. From the Intro of Part I there is no mistaking the power and other-worldliness of this double-header; eerie pads provide the opening and from there on in it is all driving percussion, hypnotic dark melodies and a heads-down floor-friendly arrangement. Part II takes things darker still, pin-sharp hits and stabs set the scene whilst filtered pads morph and twist around the mix. When the lead progression opens up it is full throttle all the way. Unmistakably massive.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Touchstone recordings, the label headed by Solarstone is on the right track with magnificent releases and beautiful tracks from the most talented trance producers out there. Simon Templar lands on Touchstone recordings with his superb Meltwater divided in two parts. Part 1 is 10 minutes long pure trance journey with atmospheric long intro that take us beautifully on the main part. Driving basslines, tough drum beats and ethereal melodies on top create the magical cinematic atmosphere that is highlighted even more in the long and highly mysterious breakdown that resembles fantasy film soundtracks. Its the perfect excuse to allow the child hidden inside us to come at the surface and with closed eyes to let our imagination build its own castles in the sand. The track lead us stunningly in the final part that is pure trance experience. Luscius mesmerising melodies, floating and flowing beats and basslines will keep the trancers flying upon their little fluffy clouds. Part 2 of the Meltwater is a darker psy trance influenced affair. Tech trance hard beats and driving basslines along with weird sounds and horror movie style noises. The breakdown is very unique with dark and sinister synthy riff that actually sounds so haunting and frightening at the same time. The climax is an out of this world experience that you can only enjoy within a packed trancefloor with smoke machines and strobe lights. Two excellent pure trance tracks to bring back the joy of trance on the modern clubbers. Love IT!
