FEATURE: Spinnin’ Records Announce Game Changing A&R App For Unsigned Artists

Problem: PRODUCERS WITH NO INFLUENCE TO GET HEARD BY LABEL A&R
Solution: “THE TALENT POOL” APP BY SPINNIN’ RECORDS

Spinnin’ Records is arguably one of the biggest dance labels in the world and a key player in the discovery of new talent. Names like; Sander van Doorn, Afrojack, Nicky Romero, Sidney Samson, R3hab, Bingo Players, Martin Garrix and Julian Jordan have all been championed by the label from their career onset, and of course each are household names in the world of electronic music (and beyond!). It’s no surprise then to learn that Spinnin’ receives upwards of 150 demo submissions PER DAY from aspiring music producers who themselves dream of the day they are also ‘discovered’ by the label and can take the next step in their musical journey.

Of course, this amount of music is impossible to listen to daily, posing a massive dilemma for Spinnin’ who actively scout those up and comers with the most drive and musical potential. Ever the problem solvers, Spinnin’ has devised a way to streamline an industry wide problem, how to sift through the proverbial dung heap to find the golden egg.

Introducing: The Talent Pool

Quite simply put, The Talent Pool is an app that allows producers to submit their uploaded Soundcloud productions and have their social media vote via the integrated app on Facebook. The track is then ranked, and those with the highest rankings are pushed up the chart and into inboxes of the Spinnin’ A&R team. The app was developed it in cooperation with Dutch software developer Digined.

Launched quietly last Friday, the app saw a whopping 300 demo submissions over the past weekend with 5000 unique social media voters. By all accounts, that is pretty spectacular.

Spinnin’s marketing manager Meindert Kennis had this to say; “We understand this does not 100% solve the problem of talent scouting new producers and music because not every new producer will have the social media following or self-marketing acumen to push the track forward. We are utilizing this tool to help streamline our talent scouting, but it is only one component of Spinnin’ A&R.”

The Talent Pool is now live on Spinnin’ Records’ Facebook page and awaiting the next BIG thing.
