REVIEW: M.I.K.E. - Back In Time out on Captivating Sounds/Armada Music

1.Back In Time (Original Mix)
2.Back In Time (Classics ReTake)
3.Back In Time (Orjan Nilsen Refix)

Belgian producer Mike Dierickx likes to look at the world in full colour. In his musical career, which spans more than 15 years already, there’s isn’t a single style within trance, progressive or techno he hasn’t touched. He has kept the spark of diversity going under countless monikers, of which Push, M.I.K.E. and Plastic Boy are most successful.

After 6 artist albums, the New York-residing producer still doesn’t lack inspiration. In follow-up to his collaborations with Andy Moor and Ben Nicky, M.I.K.E. hits full throttle with ‘Back In Time’. There’s something incredibly contagious about this new weapon, warping at you with blazing synths, playful electric elements, atmosphere changes and that constant drive that the mastermind is known for. ‘Back In Time’ is an anthem that unfolds on the go – but grabs you from the very moment the melody kicks in.

If you’re craving something a bit less proggy and prefer to go 90’s trance, be sure to check out the Classics ReTake. This one shows a completely different, sunny side to the darker original.

The Ørjan Nilsen remix of ‘Back In Time’ gives you techy flavours, a lower BPM, high energy and that beloved Nilsen sound, seamlessly mixing trance, progressive and techno.

If you’re craving something a bit less proggy and prefer to go 90’s trance, be sure to check out the Classics ReTake. This one shows a completely different, sunny side to the darker original.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Im big admirer and supporter of M.I.K.E as he is so talented and he is responsible for some of the finest trance classics ever. Im so glad that he is back with a brand new anthem that will recall the glorious happy days of the large trance boom and domination worldwide in the late 90s. As always the Belgian legend provides a high quality hymn with mesmerizing melody that keep you glued with your speakers. His track has that darkness and that industrial edge that really keeps MIKE productions on a higher level for sure. Classics Re Take remix recall the classics from his unforgetable career with his typical electro trance influenced beats, the epic sounding melody that is revealed within the breakdown, the gated robotic vocal telling us that we are heading back in time and the constant envolving composition that is like a spiral that trap you inside it and never let you get out of it. The upcoming and next big thing Norwegian talent Orjan Nilsen provides a stunning version once again that will be one of the highlights of his remix back catalogue. Just pay attention and listen the way that those tech undertones are passed through his filter and how the original melody grows in gigantic proportions. This is definitely another sure crowd pleaser.
