REVIEW: Matt Davey - Skylines out on Nudepth recordings

Matt Davey - Skylines (Dave Horne Remix)
Matt Davey - Skylines (Original Mix)
Matt Davey - Skylines (Sneijder's 1AM Remix)

We welcome back to nu-depth recordings a star in the making, Matt Davey. His 'Back In The Day' release got picked up by some of the scenes biggest names and featured on Paul Oakenfold's 'DJ BOX' compilation this year, now he is ready to unleash another monster in the form of 'Skylines'.

Like Matt's last track on the label this is a pure uplifting number with a killer melody, this time backed with a harmonic vocal and a cool leading acid line. This is one trancer that still has plenty of balls though with its snappy percussion and potent kick, this will make you punch the air and smile at the same time. Truly epic work!
Onto the remixes and leading the way is a name who has taken the scene by storm in the last 12 months. Sneijder has graced labels such as Vandit, Subculture and Infrasonic already and his dirty edged sound is hitting all the right notes with the big boys and girls. Here he gives 'Skylines' a dirty twist putting a few of the original elements to good use.

Another name we like to see on the label is Dave Horne; here he adds a wonderful progressive vibe which has summer written all over it. Here he uses more of the vocal in the intro and also a more plucky lead to the melody, excellent stuff from a producer who never seems to let us down!

Dimitri Kechagias review: From the worth mentioning  forthcoming releases is of course the stand out new uplifting anthem by Matt Davey - Skyline supported by a wonderful and varied package of quality remixes. If you adore strong uplifting trance anthems on the usual tried and tested formula then you should go straight for the epic Original mix. Driving uplifting melodies upon acid basslines and tough beat drives the track forward to reach the EPIC breakdown that includes atmospheric cinematic breakdown and eastern vibe exotic vocals that really add to the whole complex texture of that big room uplifting bouncer. Of course if you wish to go tougher and rougher the awesome Sneijder add his fat stomping tech influenced energetic beats and basslines and big warm epic synths playing the main melody that dominates the whole track. The breakdown is large as you can expect with ambient like breakdown that includes lovely soothing  melodies untill the track goes nutts and is turned into a manic beast out of its head with tech trance section that then goes big room and really uplifting. Last but not least Dave Horn transforms without any mercy the uplifting original into a stunning progressive trancer that is playful absorbing and definitely a must play if you love to warm up your sets with quality melodic jewels like this one.
