REVIEW:Store N Forward – Pepper out on Afterglow

Store N Forward return on Afterglow with Pepper

Store N Forward – Pepper [Afterglow]
1-Original mix

The in Hamburg / Germany located trance-duo STORE N FORWARD was founded by Thomas Boldt and Christian Steinweg in 2001. Because of their fascination in the music mixed with a proper volition, it was merely a matter of time until they produced their own music with their own facilities. As the years have gone by, not only has their studio developed, but also the quality and sound of their music.

In early 2004 Store N Forward tried their luck in a remix contest of the new single "Oceanlab - Satellite". In the final judging they received third place and there first release was born. Because of forgetting to mention there actual name, ABOVE & BEYOND's Tony, Jono & Paavo unknowingly gave them their second synonym with this "Boldt & Steinweg" Remix.

During the course of the rest of the year 2004, their second remix and their first single "BLIND STRAIGHT" were released also. Then, in the blink of an eye, both tracks became recognized as quality work by many producers and DJs throughout the EDM scene.

Germany's most distinguished electronic music magazine Raveline writes:"If only such newcomers like Store N Forward would spring up like mushrooms, our trance-scene would thrive and prosper like nobody could imagine!"

With the single releases "4 SEASONS IN ONE DAY" (with their friend and vocalist Jan Mühlenbrock aka MIL BROKES) and "HONEYMOON", it seems STORE N FORWARD were able to make their final “breakthrough” to be a part of the international trance scene. Rated 5/5 at DJ Magazine's review for both and also for their follow up collaboration with their Munich friends and progressive lights CRESSIDA

Supported by being the mainhosts of "Afterglow-Sessions"- radioshow on US-Satellite radio XM 82 "The System", their monthly "TRANCEFORMATION"- radioshow on Di.FM, supported by guest like Ferry Corsten, Lange, Kyau and Albert, Stoneface and Terminal, Super8 and Tab, Thrillseekers and Mike Shiver. They entertained at several events and played alongside Ferry Corsten in Houston for their second time in 2007.

Since 2008 Thomas and Chris broadcasting their own weekly Radio Show, grown up of a podcast idea. The Store N Forward Podcast Show is now scheduled on several Radio Stations all over the world.

2008 to 2009 the assumedly most exciting period of time for Thomas & Chris by far. The single "BROKEN" is a collaboration with their friends Dirk & Marco DUDERSTADT (also known as INPETTO and FRAGMA). “HELLO WORLD” was supported by remixes of Sied van Riel and Akesson. Both earned massive support by the tops like ARMIN VAN BUUREN, ABOVE & BEYOND, FERRY CORSTEN and MARKUS SCHULZ, just to name a few – and also “Hello World” made it to the Tune Of The Week in Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance Radio Show.

After a little break in the end of 2010 Store N Forward came back with a huge anthem on the 50th release of the Afterglow Label called “MANGA” – featured at Armin’s A State Of Trance with the Tune Of The Week. This tune was also played by many well known artists and was featured in Tiesto’s Club Life!
The guys starting 2011 with a remix for Rapha on an upcoming Swiss label called Tool Records and the next coming singles are already produced and signed to Afterglow Records.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Store N Forward return on Afterglow with a very hot and really groovy prog trancer perfect entitled Pepper. Hot and spicy as the title suggests it’s another example of their immense abilities to produce trance beauties like this one with the word anthem written on them from its first second until its last. Pepper is a big room uplifting prog trancer that will get center stage in any trance set in the coming weeks. Running on 132 BPM during its 7 minutes get prepared to experience an unforgettable journey full of melodic goodness and powerful grooves to shake n roll. It starts all groovy and proggy quite laid back and then goes big room with electro house influenced basslines. Slowly on top of it great melodic layers added with more prominent a wishful melancholic lead playing in the background setting the scene for the superb break down. It’s so atmospheric and cinematic that you can stop yourself from closing your eyes in order to experience that really dramatic moment. The main classical melodic lead is unleashed along with that little melancholic melody that creates as a result the absolute hands in the air moment. Suddenly the beat comes back rough and strong with some very clever pauses in between in order to add in its tension and dynamism. While I was listening to it and influenced from its title I can describe the track with the following picture. It sounds like eating a hot pepper and running around to find a glass of water or small piece of bread to calm down the burning of your tongue. Can you handle it so spicy?
