1-a) Best track(s) from other fellow artists of 2023. Why you choose this particular track, please share with us the reasons?production techniques & crowd reactions on it.
Andreas Backvall: Artbat - Artefact, this track surprised me that it came from Artbat, I love the darkness they put in this track. Definitly one the best of 2023 for me.
1-b) Best of 2023 personal productions and for what you reasons you choose these particular tracks, is it because of technical challenges, crowd reaction in the club or was it your most successful single/album?
Andreas Backvall: That would probably be my upcoming release on Pinkstarblack, called Something Strange. I remember having a really great flow in the studio creating that track.
2) Best Artist of 2023(DJ & producer). Tell us why you believe he/she is the best, the factors that have influence you to choose this particular artist. What you appreciate the most from that artist.
Andreas Backvall: This is a tough one, but I guess if I have to choose it would be Oliver Huntemann. He always deliver great productions, even this year.
3-a) Best Remix(es) from other fellow artists of 2023. For what reasons you chose this particular remix, i.e. production proficiency, technical reasons creativity and imagination of the remixer :
Andreas Backvall: Still "Y do I - Carmina Burana Remix (Techno Of The Opera)" I never get tired playing this track!
3-b) Best Remixer(s) of 2023 with short comment, for what reason u believe he/she is the best remixer? Technical professionalism and technological proficiency? the elements that stand out in it.
Andreas Backvall: André Winter always delivers on his remixes!
4) Best electronic dance music album of 2023. Tell us the criteria behind the choice of this particular album and maybe highlight for the readers the best tracks from the album :
Andreas Backvall: Maksim Dark with his album Antidepressant is really cool, be sure to check that one out!
5-a) Best electronic dance music compilation of 2023. Please explain the criteria behind this choice? is the quality and proficiency of the mixing process, imagination/creativity in the choice of the track listing :
Andreas Backvall: Hypnotic Rhythm VA 002. In this various artist album you'll find a whole bunch of great producers! A lot of them are friends from Stockholm as well.
5-b) Best artwork about single / album/compilation or promotional campaign of 2023. The criteria you applied to do this particular choice?
Andreas Backvall: That just has to go to my friends Pleasurekraft with thier single called "Fear", love the artwork on that one.
6) Best electronic dance music label of 2023. Please explain the reason behind your choice? what you particularly like or appreciate about this particular label?quality of tracks, great rooster of artists, personal connection?:
Andreas Backvall: This one is easy, my guys at Pinkstarblack of course! I really love working with them =)
7) Best music composition software and hardware of 2023 with short comment. Why you believe this particular software/hardware deserves to be named as the best? great new features, easy to navigate, compose & produce? The advantages of this particular software & hardware that makes it to stand out.
Andreas Backvall: Arturias synthesizer called Pigments is one of my favorite at the moment, I use it in almost all my productions.
8-a) Your Best personal DJ Gig & DJ performance of 2023. Where and when did you perform there? any funny incidents happened during particular performance; great crowd reactions. If there is video or sound recording please provide the link.
Andreas Backvall: The most special gig I had this year must have been on a surprise birthday party in Barcelona a few months back. Two of my best friends where lured to a big mansion in Barcelona, having no idea there was gonna be a 3-day long party in their honor, with all of their friends, that one became emotional for sure.
8-b) Best DJ set from other fellow DJ (actual or online) of 2023. Why you believe is the strongest and best DJ set? great mixing/track selection/development of the mix:
Andreas Backvall: The best Dj set I experienced this year has to be at Printworks in London, right before the closed down. Argy played a fantastic set before Artbat!
9) Best technical tips/production skills that you learnt in 2023 in relation to your DJing or music productions:
Andreas Backvall: I think that this year in particular, I have tried to arrange my tracks differently. I have learned that a decade of producing music, sometimes can prevent creativity in the form of arranging tracks, due to the fact that I've chosen old patterns before experimenting with new. So try something new!
10) Best piece of personal or music business' advice you got in relation to your career in 2023 and has helped you to progress even further and can help others who will read this interview:
Andreas Backvall: Well, this is gonna sound cliché, but try not to be someone but yourself and the music you enjoy creating. As long as you keep having fun in the studio you'll be alright :)
Dimitris: Do you have any concrete plans for 2024 regarding future releases, tracks, albums, collaborations, DJ gigs? Please provide us the juicy details.
Andreas Backvall: I have a whole bunch of new tracks that will hit the stores in 2024 so keep you eyes and ears open.

Andreas Backvall: For 2024 I wish for people to be kind to each other, give more, take less and smile.
