REVIEW: Ookay x pronouncedyea x Taska Black feat. Luma - Oh My out on Armada Music

American producer pronouncedyea has unveiled the first track of his forthcoming, four-track EP. Made in collaboration with fellow-American DJ, producer and singer Ookay, Belgian producer-songwriter Taska Black and NYC-based songwriter and vocalist Luma, ‘Oh My’ showcases such as high-degree synergy between each artist’s sound fans are already crossing their fingers for another future collaboration.

Fusing amiable guitar strums and powerful vocals with boisterous synths and a potent breakbeat rhythm, ‘Oh My’ perfectly hits the crossover sweet spot. A prime example of a collaborative creation that amounts to more than the sum of its parts, this song offers so much electronic pop goodness every dance music fan will be shouting its title out loud.

“I remember the first time I heard the demo from Taska,” pronouncedyea says. “It was a chill piano beat with amazing melodies and lyrics that had so much energy I had to build on it. The first version came together wicked fast; as soon as I picked up the guitar, everything just felt right. We knew this song was special, so we held on to it until we found Luma. I was a big fan of her work and she crushed it. You can feel all the energy in her voice and feel the track come to life when she sings it. After Luma, we were incredibly lucky to meet up with Ookay, who was able to take the song to the next level. It was a dream come true for me to be able to work together on such a special song, as I grew up listening to Ookay's SoundCloud in high school. Songs take crazy journeys and I'm glad I was able to be a part of this one.”
"‘Oh My’ had been sitting on my hard drive for such a long time before it made its way to pronouncedyea and Ookay,” Taska says. “They really blew new life into it and made everything fall into place.”
"‘Oh My’ is such a banger, and I’m grateful to have worked on it with a legendary crew!” Luma says. “I’ve been a huge fan of Taska Black, pronouncedyea and Ookay for years, and collaborating with each of them on such a fun song has been a dream come true!"

Since his 2016 debut, San Francisco-based producer pronouncedyea (aka Cesco) has been busy making emotional bangers: melodic bass music encompassing everything from the aggressive to the emotional and euphoric, inspired by genres such as trap and future bass, indie, pop and much more. Since the project’s first foray into the scene, pronouncedyea has garnered over 50 million combined streams across all platforms, with his track ‘Feel The Fire’ (with pluko) gaining over 12 million streams on Spotify alone. Attracting attention from internationally renowned labels and artists such as Illenium, Alison Wonderland and The Chainsmokers, pronouncedyea has made headway into the EDM scene, performing at festivals and clubs across the United States. After a string of independent and label releases between 2016 and 2019, he signed exclusively with Armada Music in 2020 to bring the next wave of the project to life and has been doing just that ever since.
