FESTIVAL NEWS: Participating venues under ADE Specials banner reveal first artists

A select number of Covid-proof seated concerts and cross-cultural projects under the ADE Specials banner is set to take place in Amsterdam in close coordination with the city council.

The ADE team has worked hard to be able to deliver the best possible ADE experience while ensuring public health and government guidelines. In doing so, we have collaborated closely with the city council and the city's venues to host a balanced series ADE Specials throughout Amsterdam.

The first confirmed participating venues include Bimhuis, Concertgebouw, Melkweg, Paradiso and Paradiso Noord. More venues will be announced throughout the coming weeks, as well as the full program and ticket info.

In addition to the select venues hosting multidisciplinary concerts and projects in Amsterdam, ADE is set to present a virtual celebration of dance culture for a global audience of music enthusiasts, featuring a variety of digital content including DJ sets, artist talks, studio tours, masterclasses, artistic cross-overs, a film program and much more on a brand new, freely accessible online platform. More info is set to follow soon.

The first venue to reveal its ADE Specials lineup is Paradiso, hosting a Covid-proof series of seated concerts from Wednesday, October 21st through Sunday, October 25th. The live shows will take place at both Paradiso as well as the more intimate Paradiso Noord.

Paradiso's ADE lineup consists of special live shows by Satori, Speedy J and Super-Sonic Jazz, with more to be announced soon. Satori presents Maktub on ADE Friday, a cinematic experience that combines visual arts and sound into an atmospheric art piece, and techno veteran Speedy J presents STOOR on ADE Saturday, an improvised performance between alternating musicians and video artists using analogue machines to create an audiovisual trip.

Paradiso Noord will host live shows featuring Black Sun Empire & Guests, De Ambassade, Legowelt, Palmbomen II and Peaking Lights.

In accordance with public health and safety guidelines, capacity and ticket sales at both Paradiso and Paradiso Noord is limited with seating ranging from 86 per night at Paradiso Noord to 200-250 per night at Paradiso. The ADE Specials program is hosted in close coordination with the city council to ensure public health and safety guidelines set by the government.
