EVENT REVIEW: Jean-Michel Jarre Electronica show, 13/10/2016, First Direct Arena, Leeds

One of the biggest and most influential artist in the world of electronic music touched down to Leeds First Direct Arena, 13th of October. Jean-Michel Jarre did an extensive UK tour with his latest show Electronica in the main major cities in UK bringing his amazing world of incredible music, lights and visual effects to as many UK fans as possible. The first time that I saw Jean-Michel was at the ADE when was interviewed by Armin van Buuren. In this panel I did a question to him and I asked him how he feels when new DJs and artists remix his classic electronica tracks. I was surprised on how openminded was his answer as he told me that he is happy to listen new remixes of his classics tracks because when a track is released belongs to the public and the fans can do whatever they  wish to do with it. Also in this interview and in the panel followed about the Game Changers I liked Jean-Michel strong stance on how much royalties streaming services like spotify pay to the artists and record labels. What everybody notice in both sessions with him was his fresh youthful progressive innovative and always forward thinking attitude. The second time that I had the chance to see him playing live was at the Bluedot festival underneath the giant telescope. I was blown away from the way that his fantastic show was merged so beautifully with the incredible surrounding of Jodrell Bank Observatory. Electronica for 90 minutes took us for a journey that covered the most important moments in his career and of course new material from his latest Electronica album. When was announced that he will come to Leeds that I'm currently residing I wanted so much to attend and thanks to Matt and Get In Pr I was able to do so. It was my first time at First Direct Arena and I must confess that is definitely  a jewel in the heart of Leeds. Super modern space with very good sound quality that is the ideal space for Jean-Michel to perform his show. As I was able to experience it for a 2nd time I could now focus on the details and find even more enjoyment to it. That means that is one of those shows that you should experience Live more than once to fully grasp all its details and get immersed to the amazing spectacle. It follows how I covered the show on the official Flux BPM Online twitter account as the show was unfolding in front of my curious and highly respective eyes and brain that had to be aware to enjoy every little single detail of such a mind opening experience.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Electronica is definitely one of the shows that prove how relevant for the new generation of electronic music followers is still Jean Michel Jarre. The idea to incorporate and merge new material with classic well known melodies keep the audience focused in the show that has fantastic flow and direction. It is one of those cases that you wish to last the whole night and not just 90 minutes. The spectacle is so intense and innovative that your eyes and brain will find overwhelming to process all the visual and sonic information straight away. There are moments of sadness, joy and happiness and Jean-Michel encourages the audience to take part and interact with the music by dancing of course something that the audience really enjoyed doing at the end when the video for his forthcoming album was recorded. Electronica is a highly recommended show and personally I voted it as the very best of  2016. #PureGold[/content]
