ADE Framed
Melkweg Expo | Wednesday - Sunday | 10 am - 10 pm
ADE and Melkweg have been building bridges between music and art for years. For ADE’s 20th anniversary we are building a new one between graphic design and music. Graphic design speaks the language of music and that’s exactly what we’re celebrating at ADE Framed.

Dutch artist and DJ Steven de Peven (a.k.a. Awanto 3) selected several artists who will be showing and selling their work during our exclusive printfair. Artists that capture the magic and essence of music and translate it into image. The search for graphic designers whose DNA oozes music, brought an eclectic and exciting mix. Some of them are designers of actual record sleeves, while others are more inspired by electronic music.

Lieven Segers is an example of the latter. He collects little moments and stories from his surroundings. Music plays a big part in that. His work is comical, but at the same time there’s a bit of darkness behind the humor.

If there’s anyone who gave the dance scene a graphic face, it’s the gentlemen from Machine. They’ve been working for many years and have created sleeves for Rush Hour, Kindred Spirits en Clone among many others.

Stefan van Glerum once worked for one of the most celebrated cartoonists in the Netherlands: Joost Swarte. He’s quite the living legend himself now in the world of graphic design. His work is inspired by early movements of the 20th century like Art Deco and Bauhaus which combines with popular themes. His designs for Rednose Distrikt and Lentekabinet are as striking as they are beautiful.

Steven van Lummel has a resume as an artist, singer, DJ and host and he’s the perfect example of this exhibition: a mix of disciplines and a close connection to electronic music. He founded PIP in Den Haag and gave young talent a place to work and it eventually turned into one of Den Haag’s best clubs. As a host for friends like Job Jobse, Cinnaman and Tom Trago he has both of his feet firmly planted in the art- and music scene.

ADE Framed opens on Wednesday the 14th at 5pm. After that, the exhibition/print sale will be opened from 10:00 to 22:00. Some of the illustrators will create limited edition prints  that will be for sale for the special anniversary price.

The Performance
Volkshotel | Wednesday - Sunday | 12pm - 5pm
Together with Volkshotel, ADE presents The Performance, a photography exhibition by Nick Helderman and Isolde Woudstra. The last couple of years these two photographers have shot renowned artists in everyday settings resulting in images that float between staged portraits and documentary photos. Both Nick and Isolde are known for their images that shine a sincere light on those who create magic. Drop by and explore a selection of their work during ADE Playground.

Nick Helderman
Known for his dynamic and often intimate images, Nick Helderman mostly portrays musicians and dj's. He already had the pleasure to shoot great artists and creatives like Olaf Boswijk (Trouw Amsterdam), Caribou, Thomas Azier, Palmbomen, Tom Trago and many more. Helderman's work has been featured by XLR8R, Pitchfork, Glamcult, The Guardian, Self-Titled Magazine, Le Guess Who? and Vice  - just to name a few.

Isolde Woudstra
Name a few cool acts around and it's likely Isolde Woudstra has shot them. From Austra to Lemontrip, Com Truise and Grimes to TR/ST, they've all stood in front of her camera. Woudstra gained fame with her particular well-composed and clean images that never seem to bore. Her strong focus on music, fashion and portrait photography didn't go by unnoticed and her photos were featured in renowned magazines like Subbacultcha, I-D, Mixmag, Esquire & Volkskrant Magazine.

Festi Act Fair
Radion | Friday October 16 | 11 am - 7 pm
On Friday 16 October Radion puts the spotlight on those people who deserve it most, the festival acts! The ‘Festi Act Fair’ unites acts, audience and festival entrepreneurs together in one location at this creative network bash. Acts bring their A-game, the audience brings its awesomeness and the festival entrepreneurs bring their knowledge/ In other words, this will be the place for serious people who are serious about making festivals a better place.

Via Henri x Vogue
Via Henri | Thursday - Sunday | 12 pm - 11 pm
Vogue as a subculture has been around for quite a while now. Only the amount of people that understand the depth of the individuals that have created and maintained this scene can be considered few, at least that is what Via Henri and Vogue Amsterdam think. For that reason they decided to not only create an introduction to the Vogue scene as a whole, but to especially zoom in on the individuals and elements that give the culture it's essence with talks and an exhibition.
