The latest instalment from Danse Club kicks off a much darker and harder side of the label previously unheard of on the now established imprint - with dark sleeves and muted colours there is a clear difference in sound and direction with the 17th release by Emerson Todd.
Danse Club have called upon Sascha Dive, Nathan Barato and themselves (Brodanse) for remix duties in order to take Emerson Todd’s original piece in three very dance floor led yet contrasting directions.
From each of the remixers you get exactly what you would expect from the said names and the result is a package of stand out 'danse club’ tools that will find their way into a number of record bags [permanently]!
Dimitri Kechagias review: If there is one record label to encapsulate the new wave of futuristic house that is of course Danse Club Records. Amazing releases so far that get the acceptance, respect and valuable plays from many well known djs. The brand new release comes from Emerson Todd and is called Love Somebody. An action packed package with 3 additional interpretations including label owners Brodanse own dub mix. The original mix is a magnificent slice of wobbly fat basslines, chunky techy grooves, electronic melodies and cool stretched vocal samples. The result is a heads down late night record with hypnotic elements and infectious groove that make it impossible to press stop or pause buttons. Brodanse goes for the dub style by stripping down the main elements and going towards a deeper rougher more bouncy upfront sound that has definitely techno shades in it. Things can not get more old school and spacey at the same time than that. Sascha Dive Dy-Na-Mix adds more percussion and drums along with heavier sharp metallic raw bassline, atmospheric synths, distorted synths and great arrangement that give you the impression that as the record moves on becomes faster with additional synths and spacey effects creating that intensity that will go down well on techno sets as well. Nathan Barato Remix is the cheekiest and more sexy versions of the three remixes. The groove is fat and naughty that excites the fantasy and definitely the addition of the spacey synths and those Green Velvet like vocals brings the ultimate tech house satisfaction. If you want to Love a record better Love Somebody EP. #PureBass Love it
