REVIEW: Wetdog - Drunk Girls Eating Tosti’s/Dopamine out on Rub-A-Duck/Black Hole

1-Dopamine
2-Drunk Girls Eating Tosti’s

Wetdog presents a brand new release on the Rub A Duck imprint, featuring the titles “Dopamine” and “Drunk Girls Eating Tosti’s”.

The producer duo Wetdog is known for a contemporary and alternating view on electro-techno music. Their mix of raw and penetrating sounds -which gradually bring you towards a towering climax- offers an enormous amount of variation in a single track. “Dopamine” of course is the best example here. Hard and straight-up four to the floor beat programming immediately takes off with a fast paced bassline. Once the theme of “Dopamine” sets in, the guys open all the registers on their synths and add frantic sweeps that will hype up every true electro-techno live set.

The second track here is “Drunk Girls Eating Tosti’s”, another trademark Wetdog cut. This time the beats pave the way for a slightly more club aimed production. One thing will be clear from the moment the theme of “Drunk Girls Eating Tosti’s” sets in: the music truly fits the title perfectly. We get to enjoy a deliriously programmed chorus line, played by layer upon layer of hammering synths. It gives the entire single an enormous drive that will work perfectly as the climax of every DJ’s live performance. Wetdog managed to deliver the perfect example that a tight blend of techno, electro and a little bit of house can create a killer hit!

Dimitri Kechagias review:The newest member of  the Black Hole family of labels is the electro/nu rave/dubstep influenced Rub-A-Duck. The brand new release is from the hands of Wetdog that I reviewed lately their trance/prog house bomb "Release The Dog." Now they come back with two very energetic party anthems that particularly those who love electro house/nu rave genres  will enjoy them to the maximum.  Drunk Girls Eating Tosti’s is  a very dynamic and demanding composition that will push all the right buttons to turn you into wild horses on the dancefloor. The main theme of the track  has a retro nostalgic kind of  feel and is the one that recalls electro pop tunes of the 80's. Dopamine adopts a tougher beat and kickdrum with fat basslines electronic threatening kind of melodies lead us on the breakdown that this nasty extra terrestial theme is unleashed. The beat returns harder and spookier ready to make you sweat on the dancefloor with siren like noises, scifi samples and of course twisted and squeezed melodic riffs. If you like to go tottaly and utterly bezerk and you wish your dancefloor to be ready for action better choose this anarchic duo that its mission is not to  enlighten you but to put you in that mood for party. Stritcly material for the weekends!
