REVIEW: Andy Ling - Fixation incl Relaunch & Chris Oblivion & Astro D remix out on Lost Language

1 . Fixation [Relaunch Remix]
2 . Fixation [Chris Oblivion & Astro D Remix]

LOST LANGUAGE has a big sister named HOOJ - currently absent on a journey of self discovery, last spotted in a Clapton squat - and we’ve been casually ransacking her Trance parts ever since she left, all those moons ago.

Andy Ling's 'FIXATION’ was a staple in the legendary SASHA sets of days gone by and now RELAUNCH - fresh from releasing his ONE LOVE EP - has turned in the mother of all prog-trance mixes, utilising the original parts to great effect. Don’t be fooled by inferior cover versions currently doing the rounds, guys - this is the mix you’ve been waiting for.

On the flip, new J00F heroes Chris Oblivion and Astro D pump things up a touch, liberally spraying their 303 seed all over ye olde trance crops.

Like psychic dogs, we wait with ham like tongue for the return of wild sister HOOJ - but until then, we’ll keep the water bowl full and the trance kennel warm.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Lost Language is one of the most celebrated trance labels of all times and Red Jerry's Hooj was one of the big labels back in the days too. Now Lost Language presents two exceptional remixes on Andy's Ling eternal all time trance classic Fixation by Relaunch and Chris Oblivion & Astro D. First of all the very talented Relaunch transforms the original into a hypnotic melodic tribal trancer with superb tribal techy pounding body shaking grooves, driving pulsating basslines and dark moody industrial atmospheres while on top hints of the classic melody of the original Fixation are revealed to increase anticipation for the breakdown where he applies brilliantly the classic hair raising synthy hook that is considered to be one of the most memorable riffs used in a trance track ever. Its one of those melodies that communicates with your subconscious straight away by waking up subliminal thoughts and energising  your imagination. When the tribal beat strikes back we are taken on board for an emotional ride of freedom and musical pleasure with that massive synthy melody elevating our being to a higher level of existence. Chris Oblivion and Astro D from Greece transform the original into a huge melodic psy trance smasher with old school psy trance kicks and drums while the bassline is sharp and to the point. The unforgettable melody is presented only in the breakdown to give us goosebumps but disappears afterwards as the climax is dark, moody acid psy trance at its very finest. Solid production refreshes the so important classic that deserves to find a new audience in the new generation of trance followers. #PureGold Love It
