REVIEW: Way Out West - Set My Mind (The Remixes) out on Anjunadeep

In anticipation of the release of Way Out West’s forthcoming studio album, Nick Warren & Jody Wisternoff's second album single ‘Set My Mind’ gets the remix treatment from three bright talents.

First up British producer Maxxi Soundsystem follows his releases on Hypercolour and Futureboogie with a trademark melodic rework. One of the UK’s best kept secrets, championed recently by Bicep, Brassica goes old school rave on his remix. Rounding off the package is Anjunadeep’s newest signing and 2016 breakout act, Luttrell, with a lush atmospheric take.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Way Out West present 3 excellent remixes on their huge deep house success Set My Mind. Maxxi Soundsystem version is deep dark haunting mysterious tech house at its best. Wobbly grooves, bubbly basslines, dark industrial effects, electronic melodies and playful application of the well known soulful house vocal sample. Hypnotic smooth tripping out version that calms you and sooth your pain. It carries you away to magical places and you are invited to explore the hidden sides of your mind and find the confidence to win your freedom that you deserve. Brassica starts with travelling breaks intro and then moves to the house beat while in the breakdown we are treated with old school rave organ riffs and Prodigy like breaks. Spanking production with fresh attitude and great flowing arrangement. The best remix in the package however comes from the hands of Luttrell who delivers an outstanding rework with smooth deep basslines, rolling grooves, mesmerising luscious atmosphere and stunning piano like riffs in the background while organic percussion is added along with acoustic guitar riff that comes out of nowhere to give you goosebumps and make many jaws drop with big surprise. Eclectic is the name of the game here so better don't miss it! #PureGold Love iT [/content]
