BEST OF 2015 Interview with DJ and producer Johnny Yono from Los Angeles


Dimitri: Can you mention your biggest achievements in your music career in 2015?

Johnny Yono: Releasing my first EP titled 'Poison Whispers' which came out on Perfecto Fluoro with multiple plays from Armin van Buuren on 'A State of Trance' and many others. Playing gigs in Dubai and India.



Dimitri: Do you like to cook? What is the best recipe that you cooked this year? If you don’t usually cook who is cooking it for you and which is your best food for 2015?

Johnny Yono: I absolutely love to cook. My girlfriend is Filipino so together, we cooked a dish called Pancit which consists of Chicken, egg noodles and a variety of vegetables.

Hard to choose a certain sound or sample but, one of my favorite soft synths is Spire by Reveal Sound

21) Best tip that you learnt this year for your Djing techniques or music composition:
As far as production goes, my Kick drums have been sitting more prominently in my tracks now.

22) Best piece of advice you got in relation to your career in 2015:
Be patient, stay focused and keep doing what you're doing. Great things are waiting for you in the future. It's only a matter of time.

23) Best hobby or activity that you spent a lot of time in 2015:
Graphic design work in Photoshop to promote my music and gigs

24) Best holiday destination for 2015 that you manage to visit this year either to relax or to perform in a club or festival:
Dubai

25) Best Movie of the year that may inspire you to compose a track:
Mad Max: Fury Road which inspired my single, 'The Highways Of Valhalla'

Dimitri: Finally, 2016 is ahead of us would you like to tell your plans with your future releases, tracks, albums, collaborations, Dj gigs.

Johnny Yono: Expect a lot more gigs, tours, collaborations and bigger and better tracks from myself!
