6-Radio Version

Greco-Roman and Bitclap! join hands to bring you the first solo material by Joe Goddard in over 18 months and give it an official full release very soon.

'Gabriel' has already turned into a true underground anthem that has been hammered over the last months from hippsters across genres such as King Britt, AME, Tensnake, Soul Clap, Simian Mobile Disco, Brodinsky, Crookers, Erol Alkan just to name a few.

Joe Goddard is surely one of the busiest men in the world of electronic music: writer and producer behind the world-conquering Hot Chip, acclaimed solo artist, travelsome DJ, prolific remixer, one half of the emerging 2 Bears house duo and one of the founding members of the Greco-Roman record label and party collective. So where does he find the time to make an EP of electronica so sweet? In bed, that’s where.

Fitting, then, that Goddard’s first solo material in 18 months should open with a chorus of angels, before title track ‘Gabriel’ strides confidently into familiar territory of London’s clubland and its rich musical influences; this time Goddard choosing Gospel and House as his parameters. Whereas solo album ‘Harvest Festival’ might have erred on the side of electronica and experimentation, the ‘Gabriel’ EP – the first taster of a solo album for next year - punches direct, with the latest addition to the

Greco-Roman collective Valentina (who co-wrote ‘Gabriel’) lyrically laying down the gauntlet from the off: Gabriel you’ve gone too far and you should hang your head in shame / for these wounds I cannot pay, you’ve gone too far / you broke my heart, you’ve gone too far

With new mixes from Soulwax, Jan Driver and fresh upcoming talent Etnik coming soon this future classic will take the next level. For those who have overlooked this amazing tune  here is your chance to get your hands on it.

Dimitri Kechagias review: It's always great to get introduced to new music that usually is not your style 100%. For instance I'm very glad to get in touch with the talent that is Joe Goddard who teams up this time with the fantastic Valentina for the real underground gem soon to top the charts in many territories, the exciting dark tech house meets retro house sound: Gabriel. The release so far includes  fantastic versions to choose from and get on a mysterious trip.  The original version is a deep tech house groovy song with beautiful sensitive retro style vocals. The dubby beats, the warm strings and the excellent voice offer you the perfect track to keep you warm in the cold winter nights. Of course if you wish to use it in non vocal enviroment you can choose the Dub mix. Playful, adventurus and very exciting version as well. Seji remix adopts a minimal speed garage style that will bring East London in your mind straight away. Compound On remix follows the same deep techy tasty flavored road with great vocals, trumpet style riff in the breakdown and funky chunky feeling. From this package my favorite is the deep tech house Peach Melba version that will attract your attention from the 1st that you will hear this beauty. Its so atmospheric and very cinematic that straight away i want to shake my body along with with closed eyes and imagine that I travel through dusty smoky clubs in London. Love IT!
