Dan Stone - Colorado Avenue [Future Sound Of Egypt]



Alex Wright Review: Dan Stone has hit some high level chart success to start his 2017 off with a bang, 'Colorado Avenue' has a hot, steamy, mirage feeling to it with his trademark floaty reverb tails and soft yet punchy percussion. Overall Mark: 8/10

Daniel Kandi Vs Witness45 - Yangtze River [Always Alive Recordings]



Alex Wright Review: Another collaboration with a lesser-known name than himself, 'Yangtze River' with Witness45 has that dreamy atmosphere that I miss dearly when it comes to well-produced trance. The warm, detuned, and sidechained bassline is refreshing to my ears on top of the melancholy vocal chops and evocative chord progression. The main melody has an awesome oriental vibe to it and is built unconventionally with excellent, unique tonality. Overall Mark: 10/10

Nx-Trance - Swash [Mysterious Station]

Alex Wright Review: From quite a low-key label which releases a bomb or two every now and again, Mysterious Station present the Blackout release by Nx-Trance. Swash was my favourite, with a pacey, techy groove and dramatic, melancholic mood that is expressed expertly through top-class sound design. Overall Mark: 8/10

Orla Feeney & Kristina Sky - Crestfallen [Extrema Global Music]

Alex Wright Review: Female producers Orla Feeney and Kristina Sky team up together on Manuel Le Saux's Exrtema Global Music label to create this steadily-moving, perfectly balanced track which plays on warm stereo FX and a tantalising main lead melody. Very delicious stuff from these two which sits very nicely on the ears. Overall Mark: 7/10
Zack Mia - Black Dawn [Digital Society Recordings]

Alex Wright Review: Having collaborated with Daniel Kandi on the fabulous 'Sector 7' last year, I had my eye on Zack Mia since with his recent releases on Enhanced Music sublabel Digital Society Recordings. Here is his latest one 'Black Dawn' which has a brilliantly rounded-off sound and a huge uplifting main melody. A very gracious and beautiful track that is simple and effective from the South African. Overall Mark: 9/10
