REVIEW: Solarstone & Alex Karweit - Breakaway (John Askew Remix) out on Pure Trance

This one has been a long time coming. Back in 2008 ‘Breakaway’ featured on Solarstone’s 2nd album ‘Rain Stars Eternal’, then in 2011 Solarstone’s ‘Phuture Mix’ was released – an addictive techy remix which wormed its way into John Askew’s head & refused to leave his record box for the following 6 - 6!!! years. Despite loving it, John had been threatening to punch Solarstone’s mix square in the face and make something a damn site better for a long time, and finally he got off his lazy arse & delivered with his slamming acidic #140 mix. Huge.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Solarstone and Alex Karweit collaborated for the well known vocal trance classic Breakaway. Now the one and only, the legend of the UK underground scene, the hotty John Askew provides his stunning version that combines tech trance, acid trance and uplifting trance in one explosive incredibly irresistible package. His version is underground trance to the core with aggressive basslines, techy drums, cool application of the original vocals and nice breakdown that allows the vocal to expand and win the audience once again. His climax is dark and edgy but still uplifting and feel good in a way that both trance camps will be kept super happy. #PureGold Love iT [/content]
