|Interview by Alex Wright!|
With releases on Andy Moor's AVA Recordings, Jordan Suckley's Damaged Records, Monster Force, Redux Recordings, Levitated Music (Abora), Discover, Critical State and many more, DJ T.H. has put a nice footprint of his own into the trance scene in the last few years. With remixes by Alex Wright, Nolita, and Alex Bryka, his single with vocalist Alisha Nauth 'Lost In Me' is out on FloE's Entrancing Music label on Monday 30th January 2017. We caught up with Thomas ahead of the release to talk a bit about what got him into DJing and his experiences so far.
Interview was written and conducted by Alex Wright, Electronic Music Producer & 1Mix Radio host.
Alex: Hey Thomas, thanks for speaking to us at FluxBPM Online! How have you been recently and what have you been up to?
Thomas: Hey Alex, thanks for this interview. It's going well here. I've been working on lots of new stuff actually, more information will be coming soon. It was nice to have you remix 'Lost In Me', your remix works so well.
Alex: How long have you been DJing and what were the early days of learning and playing like for you?
Thomas: I've been DJing for years now, DJing and producing professionally since 2009/2010. The early days of DJing were interesting experiences for me and the early days of producing were really hard. There is so much to learn to be able to produce good music.
Alex: Where was your first gig?
Thomas: My first gig was at an official event called 'Save Our Souls' in Cologne.
Alex: What has been your favourite gig to date?
Thomas: It's hard to say, I've played at many great events. My favorites were the We Love Trance events in Hamburg 2016 and 2015.; the Legendary Event in Wuppertal in 2014 with Solarstone; and Essen Original in 2013 with more than 2,000 people.
Alex: You've released many great tracks over the last few years. Which one was the most important release for you in terms of progressing your career and how was it?
Thomas: My best releases until now are my collab with Cyre 'Salida Del Sol' which won the A State Of Trance Future Favourite;
my collab with Rene Ablaze and Ian Buff which was the "10 Years Anthem" for Redux Recordings;
and of course 'New Day' with Denis Sender and Hanna Finsen which was included on 'A State Of Trance Year Mix 2015' by Armin van Buuren!
My greatest solo tunes were 'Dancing In Chinatown' in 2013, 'Haunting' in 2015, 'Nocturnal Creature' in 2016, and of course 'Lost In Me' with Alisha in 2017!
Alex: Do we expect any new releases or gigs to come later this year from you that you can tell us about?
Thomas: My next releases are my tunes 'Where We Belong' with Natalia Meister on Pure Energy Records, 'Be My Hero' with Robin Vane on Fenology Records, a collab with female DJ Miss Cortex on Redux Recordings, and a great upcoming vocal collab with FloE and Kate Miles on Entrancing Music. Even more are in the making actually! I may also announce that I play in summer 2017 at one of the biggest German festivals, more information will be coming soon!
Alex: Awesome! Thanks for taking the time out to talk to us Thomas, it's great to hear from you and I wish you the best of luck for the future. Remember, anybody wanting to buy a copy of any 'Lost In Me' can do so when it comes out on Monday 30th January, if you haven't heard them yet make sure to take a listen to all the mixes included in this interview!
