REVIEW: Oliver Smith - Endorphin / Shadow out on Anjunabeats

One of only three acts to appear on every flagship Anjunabeats compilation since the labels inception, Oliver Smith continues to reinvent his sound for the modern dance floor.

As with February’s ‘Mirage’ / ‘Your Love’ release, Oliver once again pairs a progressive cut with a peak time trancer; here with the ABGT200 favourite ‘Endorphin’, and the retro sounds of ’Shadows’.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Oliver Smith has been one of the most faithful members of the Anjunabeats family with his various side projects too like Meramek. As Oliver Smith continues to produce fantastic trance tracks that will definitely become part of any set in the coming months.  Endorphin is the big mainstage number that you can easily guess that will have high impact wherever will be droped without mercy. Pumping drums, thumping pulsating slightly aggressive basslines and on the first part slighty vicious with distorted synths and voice effects that make it very punchy. The breakdown is the moment that the track changes completely with Anjunabeats style xylophone vintage style electronic like bells melodies along with wide variety of synthy plucks that slowly build the tension with epic proportions. The climax is powerful and full on with epic synthy stabs upon the driving foundation that will drive clubbers to the 7th heaven.  Shadow is the classic melodic dreamy progressive trancer with warm basslines, driving rhythm and sunkissed melodies. Relaxing and smooth with housey diva voices on the background the track brings sunshine and Ibiza sunsets in the rainy or snowy Europe. Fantastic progression of the synthy themes and sonic soundscapes that you feel secure to get  immersed in them. Two #PureGold sure players! Love It [/content]
